Biography
Jenny is the Associate Director and Training Coordinator at UWEC Counseling Services. She obtained her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Wisconsin - Stout and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin. Jenny coordinates the Internship Training Program, as well as maintains clinical hours. Jenny's areas of clinical interest include depression, anxiety, adjustment to college, identity development, stress management, and trauma. Jenny recognizes and values the trust, vulnerability, and safety created within a therapeutic relationship while helping clients build insight and honoring client-centered goals.
Jenny is trained in a variety of treatment modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She also has special interest in suicide prevention and intervention. Her clinical approach is humanistic, empowering, client-centered, and often times focuses on DBT skill- building that addresses emotional dysregulation and coping with high levels of distress.
As a busy mom of a college student and high school student, Jenny loves attending her boys' sporting events and supporting their activities. She also enjoys doing yoga, Pilates, and indoor cycling. In the past couple of years she has rediscovered her love of reading and enjoys being in book clubs (with snacks).
